Dave received his BS from the University of Washington in chemical engineering and is currently a first year PhD student in Materials Science and Engineering. Dave is interested in studying surface energy and interactions of metal-chalcogen complexes in order to better understand and control their short and long range order. With this understanding, custom designed artificial solids can be synthesized to optimize their optical and electronic properties for use in photovoltaic devices. When not doing science, Dave likes to play the guitar, make metal art, cook, and sing opera outdoors. |
